Rock-a-bye baby
posted: November 4, 2009
My manager at work is having her third boy! I wanted to give her a small painting. I always liked the lullaby rock-a-bye baby... even though it kind of terrified me when I was little...I mean it was really dangerous for a baby to be rocking on a tree branch up high. So I put him swinging in a basket.

I made my friend a card for halloween. I hope she doesn't read this because I haven't sent it yet.
Tick Tock!

So I did another print today....and it repeated! (the first one I cheated and used the stamp tool on the mess-ups) I'm having a blast. It's funny whenever I thought about working with prints I had this idea engraved in my head that I had to change my style and follow a certain rule. Like only "flat vector shapes" I don't know where I got that idea because everyone told me I was stupid and could do it however I wanted. So I treat it just like my sketchbook. Anyways, maybe another tomorrow!
Patterns

It's been a while since I've surfaced, but I was sick, and that's never fun. But I was working on my first pattern! I've wanted to experiment with patterns for a while, so to start out with a bang I thought I'd play with a repetitive pattern. I hand drew it and colored it digitally, but I also plastered a copy on illustration board and I’m going to paint it. Right now I’m just having fun playing with styles and trying to get the process down. I’m fine until I go into photoshop and have to repeat the tiles, somehow I managed to screw it up. Oh well, yay for first tries! |
