This is a drawing of my brother's apartment in Atlanta. It has more product placement than usual. I was down there for three weeks, which felt like a long time to be away from a scanner.  But it was good to just hang out in my sketchbook; it got me excited about real life again and I'm ready to start on some paintings. Also, here's a little thing.

I've been doing these drawings for about a year now. (click here for the first one) They are usually born out of an urgency to draw, followed by the frustration of not knowing what to draw. I call them first-person shooters because sometimes I can fit a drawing of my hands drawing, and it reminds me of the shooter video games. The color doesn't have much to do with the actual space; it's just a fun way to seperate values, and come up with variations on palettes. The most important part is trying to capture an understandable perspective without grids and rulers and things.
