Patterns!
Today in Matt's class we made repeats and half-drop patterns from a theme that correlated with childhood, nature, fantasy, and/or history. Icebergs fit in somewhere in there so I drew a few this weekend while watching/riffing on Blue Planet at my friend's. /ink/graphite/digital/
and some things that would be nice:

![]() To finish: ![]() This little ditty is for my Illustration Methods class dictated by Matt Curtius. The assignment was to make something symbolic rather than narrative (next assignment). I chose the term "house" to work my sketches off of. So, for this concept, I wanted to hint at means of saving money on gas/decreasing carbon footprint/having a house warming party(?) without having any real resolve (i.e symbolism). I just keep my heat at 50 and wear some pretty ugly sweaters. There's only three real elements to this drawing, material wise: screwing around with this quick acrylic on water color paper texture: editing scans from this 25 cent book: and repeating an old pattern from a repeat-pattern Crit tomorrow! warm regards
So this is the new year

Howdy from a borrowed laptop
I am blunt mostly. In short: I'm stoked/psyched/enthralled to be a part of this community. Once the Spring semester begins (and I have access to the computers AND scanners), these updates will frequent I'm sure! Til then, be Ohgling@u warm regards, Nicho |
